About Theresa Nutt, MA, BSN, HNB-BC, NBC-HWC
Nurse Health Coach
Theresa completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Viterbo University in 1995. She trained in and received her 2-year certification in personal coaching through Coach University in 2003. She graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Masters in Human and Organizational Development: focus corporate coaching and training in 2005. She is board certified in holistic nursing and health and wellness coaching.
Theresa has always worked in both conventional and integrative healthcare during her career. She has held a number of positions during her 24-year career in nursing from acute care, long-term care, home care and hospice, school nursing, leadership, holistic nursing and project management. Concurrently she has worked in both private practice and corporate settings during the 18 years she has been a life and health coach. She is Co-Director of the Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching program in the Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. In addition to her graduate faculty work, she has a private coaching and consulting practice.
Theresa is passionate about helping others achieve optimal health and wellbeing regardless of their current circumstances. For more than 20 years, she has enjoyed optimal wellbeing as she manages her clinical condition through lifestyle choices. Theresa wholeheartedly believes in meeting people where they are at in their individual wellness journey. Health and wellbeing coaching creates a safe space to turn information into action. The secret sauce of Theresa’s coaching style comes from her deep compassion, curiosity, belief in your ability to thrive, and desire to support you as you make lifestyle changes that last. The conversations you will have with her will cover a number of topics including discovering your strengths and motivations, identifying and planning for barriers to your success, helping you create a clear vision for the life you want to live, guiding you to establish support in every area of your life, and building solid, realistic plans for lasting change. Theresa brings an extensive knowledge of both conventional and integrative healthcare options to her practice.
In her spare time, Theresa enjoys spending time with her large family; especially spoiling her18 nieces and nephews. She loves to be active in nature, read books of all kinds, sketch, sing, travel, cook, and write. Her constant companion is a Labradoodle named Shamus.
