Antibody Testing
This test is for people who experienced COVID-19 symptoms and were told to “presume” a COVID-19 infection. This test measures antibodies in your blood to determine if you have had a recent or past COVID-19 infection. This test is NOT recommended for people with an active COVID-19 infection, or who are currently experiencing symptoms. Results are available in a few days.
- People who should consider this test include:
- People with “presumed” COVID-19 through a doctor or other licensed medical provider.
- People who are working the frontlines.
- People who believe they may have had COVID-19 and recovered at home without seeking medical treatment.
- People who have had known exposure to COVID-19 without any symptoms.
Nasopharyngeal Swab Testing
This is a self- administered test done in the comfort of your home. This PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test will confirm an active COVID-19 infection with results available in a few days. This test should be preformed within 5 days of the beginning of symptoms to ensure accurate results.
- People who should consider this test include:
- People who are experiencing symptoms related to a COVID- 19 infections including fever, dry cough, fatigue, sore throat, body aches, and shortness of breath.
- People who are unable to be tested through other medical providers or hospitals.
- People with symptoms who would like to refrain from visiting a hospital or emergency room to be tested.
